Why cats are my favourite animal

I really admire cats. Cat's of all shape, size and form. Cat's are one of the few animals that you can own as a pet, but really, a cat doesn't belong to anyone. Because cat's are independent, and they are among the greatest hunters in the world. Unlike dog's, who will whine when they are hungry, cat's will be more inclined to go get their own meal if they are hungry, and to go find some water if they are thirsty.

Cat's do display some dog like traits at times though. As a dog might go fetch the neighbours shoe, and bring it home to try to impress you, a cat might do the same with mice and birds. Although, they are more than likely to bring dead animals home because they are hungry!

I used to have a cat that i named Boot's. I named her Boot's, because she was black all over, apart from having all white paws, which the white reached half way up all of her legs. So it looked like she was wearing socks from a distance, so i named her Boot's. Boot's was a bloody savage! But i was pleased that she was a savage little beast, because the only creepy crawlies i ever came across in the house, were the remains of them, which was scarce by the time Boot's was finished with them. Most commonly, the remains of her victims that i would come across in the house, were spider legs. Eight big, thick, long spider legs, scattered across the hallway. I'm just glad i never saw the body, given the size of the legs that i would find!

Boot's had an agressive nature, even our pure-bred red-nosed pit bull named Voodoo, was scared of Boot's!! It was quite funny, Boot's would be sitting on a chair, Voodoo would walk up to her, and Boot's would get up on her hind legs and slap Voodoo in the face with her paws. Voodoo was a wimp, and she would just lower her head and bugger off if Boot's warned her to back off.

Although Boot's was aggressive, she never bit the hand that fed her, she was very loyal to me. Boot's would not appreciate most people trying to pet her, not even my partner, whom also helped to raise her. But it was always me whom fed her, and i adored her, and i was usually the only person that she liked. Children were usually afraid of her, as she would hiss at them. I always thought that she was great! She had an attitude problem, which i found hilarious.

Like i said, cat's really don't belong to people. Sometimes my cat Boot's would bugger off for up to a few days, but i never really worried about her, because i knew that she could look after herself.

The biggest and perhaps only hassle with cat's, is potty training! When Boot's was a kitten, she tended to crap under mine and my partners bed. I didn't really know how to deal with this, but my partner Rob reckoned that he did, so i left it up to him. When Boot's crapped inside, my partner Rob, would rub her nose in it, and then rub her nose outside on the grass. Eventually she got the message, but it took some time. For some unknown reason, Boot's seemed to avoid the litter box, but other cat's that I've had took to the litter box naturally.

Cat's are also the fastest animals in the world, the cheetah in particular, which can get up to speeds near 100km per hour, give or take a few.

So cat's are the fastest animals, one of the best hunters among animals, and are independent. That is why i really admire them.

Egyptians used to worship Cat's. Although i wouldn't go as far as worshipping them, i have a lot of respect for them, and think that they are a fascinating species!
