Earrings suit your face
Earrings are great jewellery to add to any outfit, as they effortlessly add instant glam, and the right shape will compliment your lovely face! There's just something really pretty about bling bling earlobes twinklin in the sunshine, and perhaps the most feminine type of jewellery to sport.
Although it's pretty difficult to get earrings wrong, certain shapes and colours of earrings, will compliment one more than others...
Skin tones: If your skin is pale, the colours of beads or jewels that will suit you best are light colours. Especially baby pink, baby blue, and clear. But clear, or white colour stone earrings will suit everyone. So if your ever unsure about what color suits you best, or what colour will match your outfit best, go with clear or white.
Medium to dark skin tones will suit bright and rich colours best, like ruby red, emerald green, and sapphire blue.
One way to select a colour of beaded or stone earrings to suit you, is by selecting a colour that is a similar colour as your eyes.
Face shapes: Round shaped faces vary in width, but typically a round shaped face is one where the widest part of the face is from cheek to cheek, across the base of the nose. Famous people with round shape faces: Kate Winset, Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz.
Earrings that will best compliment a round shape face are dangly ones that have a bit of length to them elongate the appearance of the face. Also longish types earrings with angles, will make a round shaped face appear more dimensional.
Avoid: Hoops, and large chunky earrings, as they will tend to emphasize the roundness of a round shaped face.
Oval shaped faces will be slightly long, sometimes with a smaller chin and larger forehead, or the chin, forehead, and cheek bones are evenly proportioned.
Famous people with oval shaped faces: Jennifer Anniston, Charlize Theron, Peaches Geldof.
Oval shaped faces are the most versatile when it comes to the extensive variety of earrings out there. Earrings that will best compliment are smaller earrings, like studs, or small tear drops. Although the oval shaped face will suit most styles. There's only one style that should be avoided by oval shaped faces, and that is long earrings, as they will make the face appear very long!
Heart shaped faces will generally have protruding cheek bones, which will be the widest part of the face, and a small cherub like chin, and small forehead.
Famous people with heart shaped faces: Kiera Knightly, Kim Kardashian, Reese Witherspoon.
Heart shaped faces will best suit earrings that start out narrow, close to the earlobe, and then progressively get wider at the bottom. Such as tear drop, triangle and chandelier type shaped earrings.
Avoid: Shapes of earrings that come to a point at the bottom, as they tend to make the chin look pointy, and the face look 'elfish'.
Square shaped faces will have a strong jaw line, which will typically be an equal width with the cheek bones.
Famous people with square shaped faces: Angelina Jolie, Demi Moore, Jessica Simpson.
Square shaped faces will best suit rounded shaped earrings, and chandelier types.
Avoid: Angular shaped earrings, and studs, as they emphasise the strength of the face. You want to soften the broad angles of the face for a more feminine look.
